Dr Mike Eisenberg
Mike Eisenberg is an educator, scholar, advocate, and mentor whose personal motto is, “make it better!” He is known for ground-breaking work in:
- academic innovation: founding the University of Washington’s Information School (iSchool), and building the iSchool field as one of 5 initiators of the information schools movement and organization.
- information literacy: co-creating the “Big6” - the most widely used K-12 information literacy program in the world.
- information science research: conducting funded, award-winning studies of relevance and measurement, information literacy, digital information service, personal information management, and virtual environments.
Mike is recognized for outstanding teaching and innovation in online, virtual pedagogy, receiving teaching awards from the Information Schools at Syracuse and Washington.
